A wee bit about us
We’ll be honest – when we first built the Fix the Ball competition platform, we had totally different plans. We were thinking about partnering with big football clubs and major online newspapers with huge, ready-made online audiences. But then someone said, “Why not use this to help fund the independence movement?” And we all thought – YES! Let’s do it for Indy!
So here we are. Fix the Ball Ltd is now proudly adopting Scotland’s independence movement as our first ‘partner’. So instead of paying profits to big football clubs or corporate partners, we’re donating the lion’s share to the people who really matter – the campaigners and activists fighting for Scotland’s future. That means campaigners like Believe in Scotland, AUOB, The National, and amazing activists like Lesley Riddoch and even the 142 grassroots YES groups spread right across the entire country. These folks work tirelessly to keep the independence dream alive, and we want to give them the boost they deserve.
We know a few people worry about us making a profit for our business. But we’d ask you to consider that we’ve invested heavily in this platform. It may look nice and simple to enter but there’s a lot more to it behind the entry page and running it is a full-time job on and offline. We’re building a sustainable Scottish business that supports independence now and for the long haul until independence is won, but we need your help to do it. Would you rather have a glass three-quarters full for Indy from us… or should we forget all about this, go back to the football clubs and newspapers and contribute nothing to Indy at all? I think that’s what is normally referred to as, ‘a no-brainer’!
